What’s a crowler?
The Not-Quite-a-Can That’s Cooler Than You Think
If you’ve ever walked into our Beer Hall or Tasting Room and spotted those big ol’ aluminum cans behind the bar, you might’ve wondered: What in the name of hops is that? Well, friend, let us introduce you to the magic of the crowler.
What the Heck is a Crowler?
A crowler is basically a super-sized, 32oz aluminum can that we fill straight from our draft system at the time of purchase. Think of it as a beer time capsule—fresh from the tap and sealed up tight, just for you.
Wait… So It’s Just a Can?
Yes. And also, no. While it looks like a can, a crowler isn’t filled on our fancy canning line, so it has a much shorter shelf life than the beers you’ll find in our packaged lineup. That means you should drink it fresh (which, let’s be honest, was probably your plan anyway).
But… It Looks Like a Can.
We know, and we love that for you. But unlike a bottle or growler, this aluminum beauty blocks out every last bit of UV light—the sworn enemy of hop freshness. No skunky beer here!
Okay, So It’s a Can?
Nope. Not technically. It’s a lightweight, perfectly clean aluminum vessel that keeps out light, holds carbonation better than a growler, and is sealed up just like a can. Let’s just agree that it’s can-adjacent and move on.
Which Boulevard Beers Can I Get in a Crowler?
Crowlers are where we get to have a little fun. We use them for beers you won’t find in stores—special test batches, one-off creations, and the kind of brews that were once exclusive to our Beer Hall or Tasting Room. If you see a beer you love on tap that isn’t in cans or bottles, there’s a good chance you can take it home in a crowler.
Can I Drink My Crowler Here?
Nope. We love your enthusiasm, but crowlers are strictly to-go. They’re your ticket to taking home fresh Boulevard beer to enjoy with friends, family, or that good-looking stranger who just happens to be hanging out near your fridge.
So next time you stop by, grab a crowler or two. Your future self will thank you. 🍻
